After later the Nickel Hydride (NiMH) batteries are came to market. The Nickel Hydride is very less affected by the - memory effect & the battery also cheap only. The batteries had to be charged after every 20th cycle. Now we had the Lithium Ion batteries (Li-ion). Even though they are quiet costly, they have a lot of beneficial things. And these are not overwhelmed by the 'memory effect'. They need not to be fully discharged & then charged again at the time of recharging the batteries.
