Telephones are now the very integral part of life. They are the most commonly used modes of message transfer. The phones got better and better in terms of communication features and looks. The world of phones got a revolutionary step by the addition of the DECT phones. These phones are presently the best in terms of providing the best calling features and lot more.

These phones work in good old fashion of cordless phones but the only difference lies in the fact that the phones are very advanced. The telephone actually has a base station that is connected to the telephone line but the handset on the other hand is free to be used in the prescribed range. The handsets in the new phones are very advanced. Earlier the cordless handsets were not having a display panel in it. Sometime late the base station was provided a display screen that was monochromatic and small. Later the technology grew and a display panel was added in the handset as well. The new aged phones have a six or more lined true colored screen that is capable of displaying various information. While the phone is on hold or when no calls are incoming then the screen shows general information like the present date, calendar, present time, it may also display weather information. But during a call the screen displays information like the number of the caller, the name of the caller from the phonebook, the photo of the caller, the call duration, the numbers people waiting for the call and much more.

The next benefit of having these DECT phones is that they give better battery backup. This is due to the reason that the handset is now provided with a much powerful battery which gives it a high talk time so that you can talk for long hours and a high standby time so that the handset is kept hanged away for a long duration. Next enhancement was done in the signal power reception. The base station is provided with a very powerful transmitter which is capable of sending high power signals to very distant places. The handset is provided with an equally powerful receiving unit so that the signal is received from a long distance as well. Prior to these advanced phones the older ones had problem with signal reception. This resulted in interference when walls or other items came in between. But with the latest cordless phones you get to have a clear reception even indoors and the range is kept quite high.
