“America’s Next Top Model” gives one woman the chance to achieve her runway dreams. “The Beautiful Life: TBL” gives all the eliminated women a reason to thank God they didn’t win, because the new series tears back the curtain and exposes the seedy underbelly of the seemingly glamorous fashion industry!

“TBL” is not only jampacked with outrageous eye candy — hot boys! sexy girls! drool-worthy couture! — but it has found a bonafide superstar in Sara Paxton. I caught up with the 21-year-old stunner at the show’s NYC premiere, where she spilled on the boys, her boobs and an upcoming girl-on-girl storyline that is sure to steam up America’s TV screens!

PopWrap: You get to wear some sick clothes on the show, have a favorite?
Sara Paxton: Yes, the red Zac Posen dress [in tonight's episode] is amazing. That’s like a $50,000 dress and all I could think was, “oh my god, this is on my body right now!” [laughs] I also get to wear this amazing Calvin Klein dress that hasn’t even hit a runway yet. It’ll be in his show on Thursday. I got to wear it before the actual models!

PW: What beside the fashion made you want to be involved with “TBL”?
Sara: I thought it presented a world we hadn’t seen before, and Ashton Kutcher is amazing. For me, it’s all about working with great people.

PW: Including Ben Hollingsowrth? You guys have amazing chemistry.
Sara: Oh, it was getting steamy up in there. But it’s hard — well, not hard because Ben’s so handsome — but it’s difficult because he’s become like my brother. So we just mess with each other all the time, like, “hey Ben, I just ate a whole clove of garlic, wanna kiss?”

PW: Your character Raina has a mysterious background, what’s going on there?
Sara: Her family is in the Russian mob. She doesn’t want to be involved in those criminal activities any more — she’s a good person, has a good heart, so she ran away. It’s pretty tough on her.

“The Beautiful Life: TBL” star Sara Paxton wasn’t amused by Kanye West’s stage invasion during Taylor Swift’s Best Female Video acceptance speech. But Paxton does think it was quite gracious of Beyoncé to give Swift a second chance to thank her fans for her Moonman.

“I feel bad for Tay Tay Swift,” Paxton told MTV News on the red carpet at an Us Weekly party on Wednesday. “Why do I keep calling her that? No, we’re not [friends], but I just call her that ’cause I love her so much. She’s so cute I want to put her in my pocket. But Beyoncé, what a classy lady. She’s classy. What a class act.”

Sara is featured in the September 2009 issue of “Teen Vogue” magazine as one of the “New It Crew”.

Sara Paxton
Despite landing lead roles in frothy teen flicks—including the title mermaid in Aquamarine—Sara says that she has yet to have her big break. “Maybe this show will be it,” she muses of the CW’s buzzed-about drama The Beautiful Life, costarring Mischa Barton. That would put Sara, 21, in sync with her character, the mysterious beauty Raina, who hovers on the precipice of runway superstardom. “This is a crazy new experience for me,” she admits. “Whenever we film photo shoots, people are always telling me, ‘Relax your mouth!’ I’m like, ‘What does that even mean?’”—E.G.

Sara stars

Sara Paxton, 21, is the co-star of the new CW series “The Beautiful Life.” (Premieres Wednesday, Sept. 16, at 9 p.m.) She plays Raina, a stunningly beautiful fashion model with a secret past. In the premiere episode, Raina impresses everyone at a fashion show introducing a new line from famous Jewish fashion designer Zac Posen (who appears as himself in a cameo role). Raina’s so hot that she steals the spotlight from her friend Sonja, a well-established model who is fading in popularity (played by Mischa Barton of “The O.C.”).
Later in the episode, Raina comes to the aid of Chris Andrews, a very handsome farm boy who is just starting out as a model. Later, Raina shows her good heart again when she steps aside and lets Sonja take a job that may revive Sonja’s career. This is unusual because, as the series emphasizes, the world of modeling can be cutthroat and models’ careers are usually short-lived.
Paxton grew up in Los Angeles, the daughter of a Mexican Jewish mother and an American father who is a Jew-by-choice. (Both her parents are dentists, and Paxton does have a dazzling smile.) Paxton’s big break was as the star of the children’s TV series “Darcy’s Wild Life.” More recently, she co-starred in the films “Sydney White” and “The Last House on the Left.”

Sara has been named one of the “Five Faces to Watch” by TampaBay.com – check out the article below!

2. SARA PAXTON, The Beautiful Life (the CW): High fashion is already a TV hit with Project Runway and America’s Next Top Model. So Paxton’s turn as up-and-coming young model Raina Collins in this nighttime soap about New York’s fashion industry is bound to land her in TMZ’s sights – especially since co-star Mischa Barton is recovering from her own real-life meltdown.

The Mother Nature Network has a great quote from Sara about being “Eco-Friendly”. Check it out below!

The Beautiful Life also stars Sara Paxton, who plays Raina, the new “it girl” model with a secret. “Her major obstacle is her family — she has a really dark past,” says Paxton, hinting at possible mob connections. The L.A. native has found it easier to live green now that she has moved to New York for the show. “I’m really excited because my new building has recycling and separates everything. My building in L.A. didn’t do that. I did it by myself,” she explains. She has also discovered public transportation. “I’m a subway expert now,” she laughs.

In the stylish new CW series The Beautiful Life, (premiering September 16 on the CW), Mexican actress Sara Paxton, 21, plays Raina Collins, the modeling world’s newest “It” girl. The OC’s Mischa Barton stars as Sonja Stone, a former “It” girl who has been replaced. Isn’t it funny how life imitates art?

TBL, which is executive produced by Ashton Kutcher, is supposed to be Barton’s star vehicle (she’s gotten a lot of media attention for what is supposed to be her triumphant return to television years after leaving Fox’s The OC), but the real star is the fierce and fantastic Paxton.

We get our first look at Paxton’s character Raina in the opening minutes of the show’s pilot, where her character is backstage with a wardrobe assistant getting ready to hit the runway at a Zac Posen show during Fashion Week 2009. She’s up next, and she looks nervous. This is Raina’s first show, and the girl who goes on right before her—a seasoned model named Marrisa Delfina (a very good Ashley Madekwe)—is already out there strutting her stuff so fearlessly that it makes Raina even more self-conscious and scared. But when she finally makes it to the stage, Raina turns on like a lamp that just got a new light-bulb. We then get a close-up in freeze frame of her big beautiful blue eyes (which exude confidence and scream: “I’m the next Cameron Diaz”), and it’s abundantly clear that she isn’t scared of shiz. Raina stomps on that runway like A-Rod stomps the yard at Yankee Stadium, adding charm, confidence, poise, charisma, and grace, and everyone in the audience takes notice. Backstage, someone gushes: “What a star!”

Meanwhile, we’re several minutes into TBL and we still haven’t gotten our first look at “the star” of the show, Mischa Barton as Sonja. She is late for the Posen show—very late—which prompts Marissa and the other models to talk trash about her behind her back, with Marissa saying, “Smells like rehab to me.” Then, finally, the show cuts to Sonja, and we see Barton for the first time, looking distraught, and popping pills. Sonja doesn’t smile at all, and it’s obvious she’s done one too many modeling shows to care about this one. From the moment we see her, she is as gorgeous as she was during her days on The OC, with her big raccoon eyes revealing a sadness that seems all too real.

When her character Sonja finally arrives at the Posen event, she doesn’t fit into her dress (it wasn’t fitted properly because Sonja wasn’t around to try it on—she’s been more than a little irresponsible lately), and Posen, needing a quick replacement, taps Raina for the role. “Her!” he yells pointing at Raina from across the room and surprising everyone with his choice. Raina gets to wear the best dress in his collection, an elegant, lavish red gown. When she hits the runway again wearing this number, she gets a standing ovation and instantly becomes the envy of every model in New York. Sonja, meanwhile, leaves angry.

I don’t want to pretend like Barton isn’t great on TBL, because she is. She’s always been good at playing characters who are too cool for school, and she does that here quite brilliantly. She also manages to inject a lot of heart into Sonja, a girl who is obviously very down on her luck, and possibly has a child to take care of that no one knows about. Then there’s actor Ben Hollingsworth, who adds charm to the series as Chris Andrews, an idealistic, young model from Iowa who is new to modeling and develops a friendship (which will inevitably blossom into a romance) with Raina. I don’t want to give too much away, but there’s a scene with Raina and Chris that is so sexy I thought I was watching skinemax for a moment! Chuck and Blair have got nothing on these two!

Hollingsworth and Barton make for excellent supporting characters, but the truly great performance here is Paxton’s, who is TBL: To be loved.

Sara has come in at #4 on the list of Latina’s “Top 5 Rising Latina Stars Under 25″.

4. The Beautiful Mexican actress Sara Paxton: The CW’s fashion-themed new show The Beautiful Life (premiering this fall) stars Mischa Barton as Sonja Stone, a model who is past her prime. However, I’m most interested in seeing the beautiful Sara Paxton, 21. She’s a Mexican actress who is definitely in her prime. I’ve been looking forward to Paxton’s next big project since I saw her wonderfully evil performance as a bitchy, self-centered sorority president opposite Amanda Bynes in the movie Sydney White (she really knows how to portray a character with a mean streak)! Of the models on The Beautiful Life, (and there are many), Paxton’s character, Raina, is the most successful, and she really gets to live her dreams. It seems that Paxon—one of tomorrow’s brightest Latina stars—and her character have that in common!
