There are a lot of other things going on every time two people kiss. In fact, the act of kissing goes beyond two sets of lips engaging in physical contact with each other.
Kissing actually involves all the bodily gestures that accompany it. In some instances, a kiss is so strong and powerful that we tend to unconsciously include other parts of our body in the process. Although we may not even know it, our whole body plays an active part each time we kiss. In some respects, a kiss would be somewhat incomplete without such movements.
Facial expressions, tongue movements, breathing patterns, and head motion, are only a few of such physical actions that kissers do at some point during a kiss. These movements tend to enhance the feelings of pleasure and ecstasy that you derive from a great kiss and make kissing a complete experience.
Facial expressions in relation to a kiss vary with purpose and intimacy. For instance, you might observe different sets of facial expressions between making a good-night kiss and making out. Kisses involve varying degrees of emotion which are translated into specific facial expressions such as closing of eyes and eyebrow angling. In particular, females tend to display greater variety and depth of facial expressions than males.

Tongue movements are usually limited in kisses with a higher level of intimacy. Aside from locking between two lips, a passionate kiss commonly includes some form of tongue linking. In addition, the tenderness or aggressiveness of tongue movements and contact underline a kisser's intentions and preferences.
