Cordless phones with multiple features
Cordless phones have become essential for offices and big homes. The aim is to communicate as fast and clearly as possible. The cordless phones let you to talk on phone wherever you are being it near the swimming pool or at the porch of your house or office where there is no phone jack available.
Market is flooded with different kind of cordless ranging from cheaper to very expensive high-end cordless phones. Manufacturers are working towards making affordable; more users friendly and fully featured cordless phones owing to the tough competition with mobile p phones.
This telecommunication invention is integrated with a radio transmitter and uses different types of radio waves for communicating. Cordless phones are of three types- analog, digital and digital spread spectrum.
Analog cordless phones are least expensive, have better voice quality, but are not very secure as another comparable device might be able to listen to the conversation.
Digital cordless phones provide same range as analog but have better security than analog cordless home phones while Digital Spread Spectrum (DSS) have better range than analog or digital kind. They are more secure and immune from RF interference.
Originally 900 MHz capacity cordless phones were available. The latest ones are of the capacity of 2.4 GHz to 5.8 GHz that are more secure and allow wider range, better voice quality. Cordless phones feature answering machines, conference calling, caller id, intercom, handset locator, multi handset operation, speed dialing, LCD screen for display, pager and multi line operation etc.
Latest technology in cordless phones is DECT (Digital Enhanced Cordless Technology) that offer new features and more clear audio. A separate wireless phone to the base can be added with these phones. DECT phone feature intercom facility, increased range, easy compatibility with other DECT phones and very clear call as they use different frequency. Available in different designs, they also feature digital displays, access to email, voice mail facility and 24 hours battery back-up. DECT cordless phones can be installed over data and computer networks also. Pricing depends upon the features; DECT phones for corporate needs are expensive than home use as they have added functionality.
How to choose cordless phone
You have choice from a stand-alone phone, a phone with a built-in answerer or a phone that supports multiple handsets from one base. A stand-alone phone is best for homes with small families. A multiple-handset phone suits for bigger houses and corporate.
You will get wide range of cordless phones with 2.4-GHz frequency but to avoid interference with other wireless products at your home or office opt for 5.8 GHz or 900 MHz capacity phone. Analog phones are cheaper than digital but though expensive more secure are DSS or digital cordless phones.
You can buy cordless phones at electronic stores or online but make sure you are getting best for money you spent as it should suit your usage and style.
